The town’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is dominated by a 13th-century castle, one of the largest in Central Europe. Wander through its narrow, winding streets and marvel at the blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. The castle complex is home to a stunning Baroque theatre, one of the best-preserved of its kind in Europe. The castle also boasts an impressive collection of Renaissance and Baroque art, including frescoes and tapestries. More things about Cesky Krumlov you can read in my post.

Perched on a hilltop near Prague, Karlštejn Castle is one of the most famous and visited castles in the Czech Republic. Founded by Emperor Charles IV in 1348, it was initially built to safeguard the Imperial Regalia and other royal treasures. The Chapel of the Holy Cross within the castle is a must-see. This sacred space, adorned with semi-precious stones and gold, was designed to resemble the heavenly Jerusalem and once housed the crown jewels of the Holy Roman Empire.
